dc.description.abstractThe SOVN project ("Stokastisk optimaliseringsmodell for Norden med individuelle vannverdier og nettrestriksjoner") aimed at creating a new fundamental hydro-thermal market model with detailed representation of the hydropower system. The model is based on a combination of optimization and simulation, and does not rely on aggregation of the hydropower system. It is suitable for both operational planning and expansion planning studies.
